PlayEngine is operated by JOYIZM Inc. ("JOYIZM", "we", "us"), a Delaware corporation headquartered in Palo Alto, California, USA. Contact us at privacy@joyizm.com.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Data

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and a unique identifier from that provider. We do not receive your social media passwords.

2.2 Profile Data (you provide voluntarily)

All sensitive fields are entirely optional. You can leave them blank at any time. They are stored encrypted at rest in Firebase and are never used for advertising, profiling, or commercial purposes.

2.3 Activity Data

We collect event participation records, match results, scores, and group membership data in order to provide leaderboards, statistics, and match history.

2.4 Device and Usage Data

We automatically collect standard usage data including device type, operating system, app version, and general usage patterns to improve the Service. We do not collect precise geolocation.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Providing the Service — running events, generating matchups, displaying leaderboards
• Safety — making emergency contact and medical info available to your event host if you choose to provide it
• Improving PlayEngine — analysing usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features
• Communication — sending important service updates and security notices
• Legal compliance — meeting our obligations under applicable law

We do not use your data to serve third-party advertisements. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only in limited circumstances:

• Event Hosts — profile data you have opted to share is visible to the host of events you join, as described in Section 2.2 above
• Firebase (Google) — our database and authentication provider; governed by Google's Privacy Policy and data processing agreements
• Legal requirements — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of users

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal profile data is permanently erased within 30 days. Aggregated anonymous statistics (e.g. total matches played) may be retained indefinitely.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access a copy of your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data via your Profile settings
• Delete your account and data (via Profile → Delete Account)
• Withdraw consent for sensitive data at any time by clearing those fields
• Data portability — request your data in a machine-readable format

7. Children's Privacy

PlayEngine is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has registered, contact us at privacy@joyizm.com and we will promptly remove the account.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted storage (Firebase), and access controls. Sensitive profile fields (emergency contact, medical data) are stored in Firebase Realtime Database with security rules that restrict access to the data owner and authorised event hosts. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; use the Service at your own risk.

9. International Transfers

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers, which may be located in the United States or other countries. By using PlayEngine, you consent to the transfer of your data to these servers in accordance with this Policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by email. Continued use of PlayEngine after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
